Gardens

The Grove occupies a small hollow on a hillside with stunning views of Narberth and the Preselli Hills. Its unique natural location is beautifully framed by wonderful ancient oaks and beech trees. Since September 2007, we have been working hard to restore this magnificent house and its wonderful gardens, back to its earlier glory.

The gardens offer a beautiful display of colour throughout the year. In early spring, we are minded of our towering copper beeches and the crocuses and daffodils line our driveway and streams. These soon make way to a carpet of bluebells in a sweeping meadow from our cottages to the lawn of the main house. As the move into summer our huge rhododendrons and flower borders blaze into colour. Outside the traditional geometric lines of the house flower borders and it’s terracing, are natural wild flower meadows and streams for you to enjoy.

In the spring, we aim to start the restoration of our Georgian Walled Garden. With the help of our Architect Peter Holden and our Garden Designer Cheryl Cummings we aim to transform this space into a unique place for all to relax and contemplate. The proposed design embraces local varieties of orchard trees sitting in large swathes of lavender lining our pathways to orderly patches of lawn, seating areas and a traditional summerhouse.
