As our head chef firmly believes – the quality of the food we serve
comes from the freshness of its ingredients; our kitchen garden gives
us the perfect opportunity to pick and serve delicious fresh food to you within hours.
David our Head Gardener and his team manage the soil here at The Grove organically, using composting during the winter months when the vegetable garden is allowed to rest. Over the coming years The Grove will be looking to gain full organic status from the Soil Association.
The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales' have confirmed from aeriel archaelogical photographs that The Grove kitchen garden is a 'lost' garden that pre-dates the existing Georgian walled garden. We like to think that the new kitchen garden restores the ground to its previous use during the 17th century. We are currently restoring the walled garden and we plan extend the kitchen garden further so it can provide even more delicious ingredients to our kitchen. And as a special treat, all cottage guests are welcome to pick some seasonal vegetables from our kitchen garden.
